LF 501 Srs Ceramic Base High Current 1206 SMT
Thursday, July 17, 2008

DES PLAINES, IL, July 11, 2008 – Littelfuse, Inc. (NASDAQ/NGS:LFUS) ), today introduced the 0501 Series surface-mount 1206-size fuse, specifically designed to provide fast-acting protection for high-current voltage regulator modules and DC-to-DC converters.

With an ultra high interrupt rating of 150A at 24VDC, the 0501 Series fuse provides circuit protection against short-circuit current surges. Unlike comparable fuses, the 0501 Series has a temperature rating 20 percent higher than its closest competitor. The new fuse operates effectively in temperatures ranging from -55ºC up to 150ºC without nuisance tripping.

The 0501 Series fuses meet the growing need for circuit protection in voltage regulator modules and DC-to-DC converters. Voltage regulator modules and DC-DC converters are used in an array of electronic devices, many which rely upon batteries as their primary power source. Voltage regulator modules ensure the correct voltage is supplied to microprocessors. DC-to-DC converters ensure that adequate voltage is available, even as the battery is depleted.
