Introducing AN9 - Cherry's Dual Output Angular Position Sensor
Description:
AN9 is a non-contacting magnetic position sensor with two independent outputs. Designed for sensing applications where highest reliability is a must, this sensor stands up to the tough environmental requirements of heavy vehicles, industrial trucks, and other rugged applications. This sensor is designed for continuous output corresponding to the rotation angle of a magnetic actuator, typically Cherry’s AS500106. Two electrically independent outputs assure very high reliability. The outputs have intentionally different transfer functions. This allows the connected controller to diagnose any problems in the sensing system, such as short circuits, broken wires, etc.
Optional Features :
Standard termination for AN9 is 12” lead wires. Consult the factory for custom termination such as other lead lengths or connectors. The product datasheet shows five standard output functions. The sensor is designed with a Hall effect chip that can be programmed for other ranges or sensitivity. Again, consult the factory for our ability to meet custom needs.
Markets & Applications :
AN9 is especially well suited for shift-by-wire, brake-by-wire, steer-by-wire, throttle-by-wire, or mechanism positioning applications. Because of the reliability and redundancy of the two sensing signals, systems can be engineered without the traditional mechanical or hydraulic linkages. System reliability goes up while size and complexity are reduced. AN9 was designed especially for applications on equipment such as:
· Heavy Trucks · Industrial Lift Trucks · Agricultural Equipment · Aerial Work Platforms · Construction Equipment · Marine Controls
